5 Free Crochet Flower Keychain Patterns

I like a flower I can take with me when I leave the house. These five free crochet flower keychain patterns range from a flat cherry blossom to a little bouquet with stems tucked into a green wrap. Each one has its own full pattern on Wavode, with the materials and instructions together on the linked page.
The sunflower and daisy have quite different personalities: pointed yellow petals on one, soft rounded petals on the other. Then there's the tiny vase, which makes me smile before I even get to the flower. I've kept this collection to flowers made to hang from keys or a bag, so you can choose by the shape you'd like to carry.
| Flower at a glance | What makes it different | Hook in the linked pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Sunflower | Flat brown center, pointed yellow petals and a green leaf | 2.5 mm |
| Daisy | Puffy yellow center and rounded petals | 2.5 mm |
| Cherry blossom | Flat pink flower with notched petals and an embroidered center | 3 mm |
| Potted coneflower | Drooping petals above a little round vase | 2.5 mm |
| Mini bouquet | Daisy, tulip and rose gathered on a clasp | 3 mm |
All five use DK #3 cotton. Open the individual pattern for its color amounts, finished measurements and hardware before choosing your supplies.
Safety. These accessories have metal rings or clasps and small parts. Keep them away from children under 3.
1. Sunflower Keychain with a Little Green Leaf

The sunflower has a wide chocolate brown center, a slim yellow ring and long pointed petals. A green leaf peeks out beside the hanging point. I like the warm yellow and brown together; the flower stands out against a plain canvas bag.
The center stays flat, and an outline gives the petals their sharp tips. I like the backing disc here: it covers the sewing, so the flower looks tidy when it turns on its chain. This is the one I'd choose for a bold, flat flower with a leaf.

2. Daisy Keychain with a Puffy Yellow Center

The daisy is the softer-looking flower in this collection. Its yellow center is gently padded, and the petals have full, rounded ends. The lavender version feels like a little handful of spring.
I like this pattern for playing with color: keep the yellow center and choose white, peach, pink or blue for the petals. The backing disc uses the petal color too. If you're choosing between this and the sunflower, look at the center first: the daisy has a dome, while the sunflower has a flat seed head.

3. Cherry Blossom Keychain

The cherry blossom has a small notch at each petal tip and dark pink stitches spreading out from the middle. Those details give the pale flower its character. I'd choose it for a delicate pink accent on a zipper or key ring.
You crochet the flower flat in joined rounds, then pick up a needle for the dark pink center. Those last stitches bring the pale petals to life. Choose this one if you enjoy tall stitches and a small embroidery finish.

4. Potted Coneflower Keychain

This one brings its own vase. A tall brown cone sits above dusty pink petals, with green leaves gathered over the rim of a round blush pot. I love the contrast between the drooping flower and that neat little rope edge.
The useful detail is inside: a cord runs down through the flower and stem to the bottom of the vase. It carries the pull from the key ring, helping the flower and pot stay together when the charm hangs. I'd pick this project when I feel like making a small sculpted object, with time for sewing and assembly.

5. Mini Bouquet Bag Charm with Daisy, Tulip and Rose

The bouquet is the fullest charm here: a white daisy, pink tulip and peach rose gathered into a hand-tied posy. The green band around the stems makes it look ready to give to someone. I'd clip it to a bag handle where the stems have room to hang.
Each flower offers something different to make. The daisy opens around a yellow center, the tulip starts as a cup, and the rose rolls up from a strip. The hanger is tucked behind the flowers, where it holds the posy up like a little spine. Choose this one if you enjoy making several small elements and arranging them together at the end.

For a small floral pair, I'd put the pale pink cherry blossom beside the lavender daisy. For a single charm that fills the front of a bag, I'd choose the bouquet. Let the flower shape decide, then pull out the cotton colors that make you want to start.
